On July 2nd, the Peru office Administrative Team ventured on an expedition to further expand upon our knowledge and broaden experiences. Medicine Horse, a community based provider for individuals with various disabilities, invites fellow organizations to discover their programming first hand. We explored their horticultural gardens, labyrinths and butterfly gardens all the while stimulating our senses of touch and smell. Following our hike through the sensory trails, we learned about and communicated with the horses, took turns grooming and painting (yes, painting) them. Our final task was supporting our comrade, Tim, as he rode the horse through the sensory trails.
The latter part of the day was spent relaxing at our office barbeque. Kicking back, sharing life tales and humorous stories in between enjoying amazing summer time food! In the end, we re-affirmed our connection with nature, each other and Karen’s cream puffs.
