Every year Residential Resources of Peru adopts a family for Christmas. This year we adopted the Provost family and one of Holden’s wishes was to get a Plattsburgh State Cardinals Hockey sweatshirt and blanket for Christmas. However, with the help and magic of all of the Peru office staff and a “special connection” at Plattsburgh State, we were able to do something a little more than that for him. On December 4th, 2009, Holden and his family got 4 tickets to the Plattsburgh State Cardinals vs. the Potsdam Bears game thanks to the Head Coach Bob Emery.

After they tied 3 to 3, and a stressful and exciting game was completed, Holden was invited to meet the entire Cardinals team in the locker room. They greeted him with an autographed jersey and an autographed hockey stick which completely made his night. A few days later, I received a call from Bob Diman (my brother a PSU employee who helped make all of this possible, a.k.a. our “special connection”) who told me that Bob Emery and his team would love to do more for Holden. In fact they invited him to some of their team dinners and events for 2010. Needless to say, Holden is definitely having a very special Christmas.
